I believe you must bring your whole self to the table if you want to thrive in today’s crazy world; your personality, your sense of gratitude, and most importantly, your heart. All of these elements brought me to re-imagine #marks4theirlives, a global art initiative.
Ever since I launched this project (the 3rd rendition of my vision, ) the delivery of submissions has been thriving and has quickly gained a worldwide, loyal following.
Each mark represents one year in the participants life. If you are 18 years old, 18 marks will be made; if 40 years old, 40 marks will be made. These are more than marks, they are stories. When we reflect in artful meditation, images and memories emerge. It is my personal belief that it is within the negative spaces, the gaps, and the in-betweens, where we give, breathe, and leave room for each other to coexist in peace. We are 'I' (one). The goal is to inspire citizens and leaders worldwide to confront hatred, prevent genocide, and promote human dignity.
22 years ago, which I'm realizing this very second, a multiple of 11, I experienced the March of the Living. This is where my connection to the Holocaust was formed.
These ones (llll) parallel lines, keep showing up. In my art, my home addresses, and on the clock. Synchronicity at it's finest.
